Trudy I Nishihara
Trudy’s real estate career began in 1986. She obtained her broker’s license in 1989 and became a partner and branch manager for Prudential Locations. From November of 2000 to the end of 2011 Trudy and husband Glenn ran their own real estate company, Realty Group.
As a committed REALTOR®, Trudy has maintained her membership with the Honolulu Board (HBR), Hawaii Association of REALTORS® (HAR), and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) since 1986. Her past volunteer activities with the REALTOR® organization include serving on committees such as Professional Standards and Arbitration Committee (PSAC), Education, City Affairs, Standard Forms, and was the President of the Hawaii CRB Chapter. On the national level, she served on PSAC, Risk Management and Business Issues Committees. She was a Director for HBR and HAR, Chairman of the Hawaii Real Estate Commission and is a Past President for the Hawai‘i Association of REALTORS®.
Trudy’s teaching experience started with the Department of Education as a substitute teacher and a Reading and Math tutor. This led her down the pathway to teaching in the real estate industry. More specifically she has been an instructor for: the Essential, Strategies, GRI and Broker Awareness courses; the Real Estate Commission’s Mandatory Core Courses; NAR Ethics training; broker courses at the University of Hawaii’s Shidler School of Business; and pre-license courses for new licensees. She developed several real estate courses and has been a contributing writer in real estate publications relating to purchasing and the escrow process in the United States.
