The neighborhood is located along the Farrington Highway between Maili Beach Park and Lualualei Valley, just south of Waianae. Notably, Maili is home to the Naval Radio Transmitter Facility Lualualei which features two tall, red antennae. Built in 1972, they were the tallest manmade structures in the Western Hemisphere at the time. Maili has one of the largest Native Hawaiian populations in Hawaii and has a current population of approximately 11,535.
